Dacor, the luxury kitchen appliance manufacturer, has just introduced their newest product—an Android-powered kitchen oven. The 30-inch wall oven features a 7-inch LCD screen much similar to any common Android tablet nowadays. It features a Discovery IQ Controller that runs with an Internet connectivity of 1 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM.
Through the appliance dubbed as a “smart oven”, you can access Google Play; surf the Internet; and share videos, photos, and recipes with friends. Using the Discovery IQ Controller located at the top of the oven, the gadget can predict how much cooking time an ingredient needs. You just need to input the weight of the meat. You can even cook remotely through any Android phone! Now, how’s that for a new technology? You can also program the oven to alert you on your Android phone once cooking is done.
This breakthrough on oven technology, which makes human assistance in the kitchen virtually unnecessary, is set to be released summer of 2013 with a starting price of $4499.
